Terms and Conditions
Ordering, Payment and Cancellation
- The process of making your custom edible work of art starts weeks and, in some instances, months in advance.
From consultation, designing and processing the order, to ordering the professional supplies needed to craft your custom design.
We pay the utmost attention to detail with our cakes and design and start making detailed pieces of your order well ahead of time.
Due to high demand, it is important that you reserve your spot in our schedule and as our custom cake availabilities fill up very quickly, weeks in advance.
- At the time of consultation/scheduling your custom cake, full payment to secure your order is required.
By doing so we reserve your date and can begin preparing for your custom design. Failure to do so will result in your custom cake order being cancelled. The cake remains the property of Cakes by Thierry until all funds have been cleared into our nominated account.
If you cancel your cake order, for any reason, less than 7 days out from the date of the event no refund will be issued.
You may however reschedule for the delivery of the cake to another date up to 30 days in advance of the initial required date without penalty.
Wedding cakes are unable to be altered once confirmed.
Wedding cakes attract a 30 day cancellation notice via email to be eligible for a full refund.
Custom Cake Alteration
- Please note, it takes a lot of time and planning to make your edible art come to life.
We can only accept MINOR changes to the cake and design up to 7 days out from the event date. Any less than 7 days out and alterations can only be made for extreme circumstances.
No changes to the cake/design will be made 5 days from the event date.
Wedding cakes are unable to be altered or changed once confirmation of payment and date has been received.
Refund and Returns Policy
- If a refund is due, all refunds will be provided as a deposit paid into a nominated bank account given by the customer less surcharges where applicable.
- All our cakes and bakes are baked to order, and we do not accept returns. If you are in any way unsatisfied with the condition or quality of your order upon arrival, you must contact us within 24 hours of receiving the order. Cakes by Thierry reserves the right to any course of action therein. We will not accept liability for any complaints made after this time.
Delivery
- We do not deliver any cakes, we only offer pick up from Jimmy’s Deli located at 30 Anderson Street, Yarraville, Victoria, 3013.
Allergies
Cakes by Thierry accepts no responsibility for any allergy related issues arising from consumption of the cake.
Photography
- We reserve the right to use photographs of orders we prepare on our website, blog, and social media channels. If you would like to specifically request that we do not use photos of your order, or that we provide you with a photo of your order, we will be happy to do so, but you must let us know at the time of ordering.
Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria.
Jurisdiction and Venue
- Any legal dispute shall be brought before the courts of Victoria, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Entire Agreement
- These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cakes by Thierry with respect to your use of our online business and ordering system and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and Cakes by Thierry.
Contact Us
Unless it is specified at the time of confirmation on your custom cake order, all products may contain or come into contact with dairy, wheat, nuts, soy and other allergens.
It is the client’s responsibility to inform their guests of any risks relating to an allergic reaction.
